Eleni Tsafantaki
MSc Advanced Physiotherapy in Rehabilitation, BSc Physiotherapy (Hons.)
Eleni brings over a decade of physiotherapy excellence, combining her Master's in Advanced Physiotherapy in Rehabilitation with extensive experience across elite sports, complex rehabilitation, and Paralympic-level athletics.

Her career spans two continents, having worked and studied in South Africa and the United Kingdom. This ranges from volunteer rugby team support to working at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games for the Refugee Paralympic Team.
Lately, she has been Team Lead Physiotherapist, managing the most challenging cases in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), including amputee rehabilitation, spinal cord injuries, complex polytrauma, and complex neurological conditions.
"Managing complex rehabilitation cases has taught me that every injury tells a story, and successful treatment comes from listening to that story and creating a completely personalised approach. What works for one athlete may not work for another, even with identical injuries."
Eleni has experience working with athletes with various conditions, including back and neck pain, tendinopathies and shoulder injuries – from athletes who are weekend warriors to elite level, across a multitude of sports such as running, rugby, and cycling, to name a few.
Her qualification in mat work Pilates from the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute also provides her with strong foundations in exercise-based rehabilitation that focuses on posture and control, while keeping the plans simple enough to complete in your own home.
Her role as a National Classifier for UK Athletics and Triathlon events has given her excellent insight into athletes with disabilities as well, including Paralympic and adaptive sports, which gives her an understanding of how different body mechanics and capabilities affect movement patterns and injury risk.
This experience translates directly into more effective treatment for all athletes, as she understands movement compensation patterns that others might miss.
Eleni's international experience, having worked across South Africa's state hospital system and the UK's NHS, has exposed her to diverse treatment approaches and a wide range of conditions across a range of cultures.
Eleni’s own sporting interests:
Eleni enjoys running, fight training, hiking, and weightlifting to keep fit, and has completed races from 5 km to 21 km. This makes her acutely aware of the different types of injuries you can face in different sports and how they can affect your performance.
She enjoys keeping active, as this also has a positive effect on her wellbeing, and she is therefore extremely empathetic in understanding that when “rest” is needed for an injury, it can take a toll on your mental health.
For this reason, she enjoys working with athletes to try get them back to their sport as soon as possible and provide them with enough education and advice to help them feel in control of their injury and rehabilitation plan.

With regards to providing online physio treatment, Eleni says:

"Having worked in various settings, I've learned that education and empowerment are often more powerful than any hands-on technique. When you teach someone to understand their injury and give them the right tools to manage it, they become their own best therapist. That’s where real, lasting recovery happens."

Eleni has been practising as a physio since 2014.
